A note from event Illini RST Celeb-Am Golf Outing founder and long-time Painless member Nik Lapin:

Greetings!

Hope this note finds you all well. While the Chicago “Spring” was not ideal golfing weather, we’ve turned the corner!

Which means…it’s time to think about the 4th Annual Illini RST Celeb-Am Golf Outing and SAVE THE DATE: FRIDAY, AUGUST 17TH! Once again we’ll be at Deerfield Golf Club in Riverwoods.

Hard to believe it is 4 years already! I had the goal of “50 in 5” when I first started this outing with the idea of raising $50,000 within 5 years for the Rec, Sport & Tourism department at U of I. Happy to say that to date, we’ve contributed over $31,000 and that goal is within reach!

Now, the success of the event is only as good as those that support it. Many of you have contributed to the outing in some fashion over the years and I am truly grateful.

Planning is underway, so please mark your calendars and pass it on to all Illini or Sports Marketing Industry professionals you know that would be interested in playing–OR sponsoring–the event! My goal is to generate $10,000 in sponsorship to help offset some of the event costs AND continue to obtain great items for arguably one of the best golf outing auctions/raffles in Chicago.

Lastly, as some of you may know, I worked with the department to endow the Nik Lapin Aspiring Sports Professional Scholarship. ALL proceeds from the outing help fund this scholarship that not only provides financial support, but mentorship to aspiring sports professionals as they begin their careers.
