On Saturday evening, September 11, longtime Painless member Nik Lapin (@slicknik42) is hosting an event that’s part networking event/part fundraiser at Orange & Brew Bottle Shop & Tap Room in Downers Grove, Ill. (A Painless-owned establishment.)

The event benefits future sports marketing professionals at the University of Illinois via the Nik Lapin Aspiring Sports Professionals Scholarship Fund. Awarded to students in U of I’s Recreation, Sports & Tourism (RST) Department, the program not only helps students interested in sports and entertainment receive monetary support, but also guidance in the form of mentorship to help them start off in this industry.

A portion of all sales at Orange & Brew on September 11 (yes, from the time they open at Noon until they close at 10 PM!) will be donated to the scholarship fund.

Plus, there will be all kinds of fun opportunities to raise money that include a 50/50 raffle, silent auction and several games that offer a chance to win $10,000!
